Sauerkraut Cave is a historic limestone cave located in E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Kentucky. It’s widely rumored to be one of the most haunted places in the state. The cave derives its name from its past use by the nearby Lakeland Asylum for the Insane (later Central Kentucky Lunatic Asylum)…as a cold storage facility for perishable goods, particularly large cans of sauerkraut. Enjoy, Creepies!!!
