Rebecca’s family moved from one strange old house to another, but the place in Pecos, California felt wrong almost immediately.

The backyard terrified the children. Her bedroom stayed freezing cold no matter how brutal the summer heat became. Even friends hated being in that room.

Then one night during a sleepover, Rebecca and her friend noticed strange lights appearing around the crack of the bedroom door.

At first, it looked like someone playing with a flashlight in the hallway.

Then the lights changed colors. Then they started spinning faster and faster around the frame. And when Rebecca finally ripped the door open to catch whoever was outside…
