Lorna Gibson - Birds Up Close...with TRE's Hannah Murray

Lorna Gibson is a Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at MIT. Her new book ‘Birds Up Close’ is about the fact that she has been a lifelong birdwatcher. In the book she explores the marvel of how birds work from her perspective as an engineer and a lifelong birder. She looks at the hidden microscopic structures and engineering principles that keep birds aloft and alive.
