When the Dead Come Calling: Angie Hawkins on Signs, Spirits, and Second Chances, The Byte!

What if the person you loved—and lost—is still finding ways to communicate with you?

What if you suddenly smell their unmistakable perfume, cigarette smoke, favorite food, or another familiar scent when there is no obvious source?

And what if that mysterious experience is not something to fear, but a reminder that love, connection, and relationships may continue after death?

In this fascinating and deeply personal episode, I talk with Angie Hawkins, an inner glow coach, adventurer, author, and woman who has built a life around courage, confidence, healing, and saying yes to experiences that challenge her.

Communicating With a Loved One After Death

One of the most beautiful parts of Angie's story is that she and her father had not been close while he was alive.

Their relationship had been complicated. Angie describes growing up with a father who struggled with alcoholism and depression, and their relationship never became what she had hoped it would be.

They weren't even speaking much during the years before his death.

Yet after his death, Angie began writing him letters every day.

Over time, she came to experience her father not simply as someone she had lost, but as a presence who could still be part of her life.

She describes him as a protector—and even as a best friend.

That creates an extraordinary question:

Can relationships be healed after someone dies?

For Angie, the answer has become yes.

Can You Heal a Relationship After Death?

Angie's story isn't simply about paranormal experiences or communication with spirits.

It's also about second chances.

A friend once suggested something Angie had never considered: perhaps her father's presence after death wasn't only healing for her. Perhaps it offered him an opportunity to show up as the father he had not been able to be during his physical life.

That idea completely changed the way Angie viewed their relationship.

Angie Hawkins and the Medium Who Knew About the Sweater

Eventually, Angie experienced her father's presence often enough that she decided to visit a medium.

Interestingly, Angie says she didn't really believe in mediums at the time.

She was embarrassed and worried that people would think she was crazy.

But during the reading, the medium said several things that immediately caught Angie's attention. To hear what those "things" were that were said, well, you'll just have to listen to the episode!
