Siders Family: Deputies Went For A Warrant, Found THIS

The Siders family in Hamden, Ohio, spent eighteen years as a family nobody on Ohmer Street could name. Then a Vinton County deputy showed up to serve a misdemeanor warrant and found sixteen children packed into a five-room house — some who'd never spoken a word, never learned to read, never seen the inside of a school.

The Attorney General didn't mince words: "pure evil," conditions where another day might have meant deaths. The sheriff said the family's livestock had it better than the kids did. Four adults now face sixty-eight felony counts of child endangerment, and a grand jury hasn't even weighed in yet. The word the AG chose — intrafamilial — is doing a lot of quiet, heavy lifting in this case.

What makes it land harder is how avoidable it should have been. Sixteen hospital births over eighteen years, roughly one every thirteen months, and not a single doctor or nurse raised a flag. Ohio gutted its homeschool oversight back in 2023, so no truancy officer ever came knocking. And Elizabeth Siders — one of the four adults now charged — was herself married at fifteen, with a judge's approval, in a state that sets no minimum age for marriage at all.

Tony walks through how a household of eighteen people stayed invisible to hospitals, schools, and courts for two decades, and what it says about a state that keeps building the very blind spots that let this happen. This is the case that turns a routine warrant into a reckoning for three different institutions at once.
