Nancy Guthrie's Fake Ransom Man Got Just WHAT?!

Every new development in the Nancy Guthrie case seems to raise more questions than it answers, and this one might be the most infuriating yet. The man who sent the Guthrie family fake bitcoin ransom demands has been sentenced, and Tony Brueski breaks down why the punishment doesn't come close to matching what he put this family through. 
The charge: harassment, reduced down from something far more serious. The sentence: five years of probation, with every count running concurrently instead of stacking up. Retired FBI special agent Jennifer Coffindaffer called the result a travesty, warning it could embolden the growing list of copycats agents are now tracking under one name, the TMZ Twelve. 
Underneath that plea deal sits a four-million-dollar ransom note with an escalating threat, and a second, colder letter sent only to local television stations, apologizing and calling Nancy's death an accident. Both were reportedly traced to the same IP address, one of the few concrete threads investigators have. Porch Guy, a figure tied to the case, is still out there, unidentified. 
And the case keeps producing friction beyond the hoaxer. Sheriff Chris Nanos has faced pointed questions about discrepancies in his own record, at one point telling a reporter to enjoy his hit piece rather than answer. The FBI and the Sheriff's Department can't agree on jurisdiction, can't agree on which ransom notes are genuine, and a retired agent says there's real internal disagreement over whether some of the evidence is even legitimate. 
Kash Patel told a podcast his agents were locked out for days, yet one of his own special agents had already appeared beside Sheriff Nanos at a press conference, with a plane reportedly fueled and waiting.
