Lack of appetite can result from sickness or from being filled with the wrong foods. Perhaps both contributed to the spiritual condition in first-century Laodicea, causing the Christians there to lose their hunger and thirst for righteousness. The Lord’s warnings to this church were serious, and they echo across the centuries to modern churches that struggle with the same dilemma.
This sermon will examine this church and explain how paying close attention to the Lord’s powerful Sermon on the Mount can keep us from being filled with the wrong things, helping us maintain the spiritual health that produces faithful service rather than complacency.
