Pre-season matchday: Guimaraes situation remains opaque

Newcastle's senior (and junior) men drew 1-1 at Gateshead in their first pre-season outing. Sean Steur impressed in his first appearance before fans but we're still very much at the shaking-off-cobwebs stage.
Eddie Howe did speak, briefly, to the assembled press and that was inevitably dominated by transfer talk, especially the clear-as-mud Bruno Guimaraes Arsenal transfer rumours.
