Lindsay Clancy Trial: Pharmacy Manager and Hostess Fill In the Timeline

Two witnesses with nothing in common except the same case took the stand today in the murder trial of Lindsay Clancy, the Duxbury, Massachusetts mother accused of strangling her three children — 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 7-month-old Callan — with exercise resistance bands inside the family's Summer Street home on January 24, 2023. Clancy faces three counts of murder and three counts of strangulation. She's pleaded not guilty, and attorney Kevin Reddington is mounting an insanity defense built on severe postpartum psychosis and psychiatric overmedication.

First up was Angela Krause, general manager of the CVS in Kingston. She testified Clancy called the pharmacy herself asking about a specific medication. Investigators later came back with a separate request — surveillance footage from the day Patrick Clancy picked that same prescription up. Two visits, two different things police wanted to see.

Then came Saria Sweeney Shelgren, a hostess at ThreeV restaurant in Plymouth, who was working the night of the killings. She testified Clancy called in an order and that her voice wasn't slurred or impaired. A man came in to collect it. Small detail, deliberate purpose — prosecutors are spending their time building an hour-by-hour account of that evening, and a clear-headed phone order doesn't leave much room for a narrative of total collapse.

After the killings, Clancy allegedly attempted suicide by jumping from a second-story window and is now paralyzed from the waist down. Her husband, Patrick, was out running errands at the time and has since relocated to Manhattan. The trial continues in Plymouth Superior Court and is expected to run several weeks.
