Nolan Wells' Pathologist Couldn't Rule Out WHAT?!

An eighteen-year-old goes to a boat party on Horn Island for the Fourth of July. Two days later, a park ranger finds his body. The state calls it settled. His family's own pathologist won't sign off on that, and Ben Crump made the reason public at the NAACP National Convention: the second autopsy on Nolan Wells lists the cause and manner of death as undetermined, and non-accidental factors could not be ruled out. 
The first autopsy, the one the state performed, retained his throat. The trachea, the hyoid bone, the laryngeal cartilage, the parts a pathologist checks specifically when compression might be involved. Whatever the state found in those structures has stayed with the state, and nobody outside a small circle of officials knows what it says. 
Meanwhile, there's a viral clip everyone assumed showed Nolan in his last recorded moments, and one of the men who was physically in the water that day is now telling investigators that voice belongs to him. He said it in a statement before he ever said it out loud to a camera, which changes how you have to read everything that came after. 
We lay out everything that's actually been released in this case against everything still sealed, including a Mississippi statute about autopsy access that almost nobody has mentioned on air. The district attorney has referred the case to a grand jury, which means subpoena power the sheriff never had, sworn testimony from everyone who was on that island, and phone records that don't get to be rewritten later. None of this resolves on its own, and the grand jury is only getting started.
