How many times have you told yourself you are just tired?

In this episode of The Wellbeing Project, host Karine Rayson of The Crew Coach speaks with Alice Lloyd of Lloyd Yacht Management in Sydney about chronic stress, nervous system dysregulation, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, and the burn and crash cycle that so many high performers miss until their body forces them to stop.

Alice was a midwife before entering the yachting industry, and for 20 years she lived with chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia while being told there was nothing that could be done. Her story is deeply personal, but the message is highly relevant to yacht crew, captains, HODs, managers, business owners, and anyone running on adrenaline while calling it capability.

This conversation explores why stress is physiological before it is mental, what happens when the nervous system never gets to stand down, and why exhaustion, skipped meals, poor sleep, brain fog, irritability, and emotional shutdown should not be dismissed as normal.

Karine and Alice also discuss the early signs that someone onboard may not be coping, the importance of rest and regulation, and why high performance cannot be built on constant adrenaline without eventually paying a price.
