“Blessed Are the Poor in Spirit” by Greg Chandler

Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount opens with a startling observation: “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” Flying in the face of human reasoning, Jesus asserts that it is those who humble themselves who will find their way to His kingdom. This coming Sunday, in a sermon entitled “Blessed Are the Poor in Spirit,” we will discuss how one develops this disposition and how to keep pride from blinding us to the great promise Jesus has made.
