The Old Canal Inn, located at 2 E. Passaic Ave in Nutley, New Jersey, is widely considered one of the state's most haunted bars. This is primarily due to the legend of the Death Seat. This specific red-cushioned stool at the end of the bar is roped off because urban legends claim that patrons who sit in it die shortly after; notably, two men reportedly suffered fatal heart attacks within ten days of fighting over the seat in the 1960s, and another incident occurred in 1964!!!
