"They Feed at Night" - Scary Stories Told in the Dark

Eight-year-old Terrance is supposed to be asleep. Instead, he's listening to something scratch against his second-story bedroom window. At first, it sounds like a branch brushing the glass. Then it comes again—slower, sharper, deliberate. And when Terrance finally gathers the courage to look outside, he finds a pale face staring back at him from a place no one should be able to stand. Within moments, an ordinary night in a quiet suburban home becomes a desperate fight for survival as Terrance and his family discover they aren't dealing with a prowler—or anything else that should exist. Pale figures are gathering outside. They are impossibly fast, terrifyingly persistent, and very, very hungry. And once they've chosen a home, locked doors may not be enough to keep them out.
