Funeral homes can be deeply unsettling because they occupy a strange space between the familiar world of the living and the unknowable world of the dead. They are often quiet, dimly lit places filled with reminders of mortality, where ordinary rooms suddenly take on a much darker atmosphere. The smell of flowers, the silence of empty corridors, and the knowledge that bodies have been prepared for burial there can make even harmless sounds feel sinister.

There is also something inherently eerie about a place designed to care for the dead while everything around it remains so still and ordinary; a reminder that death is always closer than we like to imagine.

Today’s phenomenal feature-length tale of the weird and macabre is all parts of the wonderful series ‘The Funeral Home I work at has a Strange List of Rules’ by Mammoth Formal 1, kindly shared directly with me for the express purpose of having me exclusively narrate it here for you all.
