When a Miracle Looks Like Perfect Timing: Kurt Bush on Faith, Synchronicity, and Being Taken Care Of
What if the miracle you need arrives before you even know you need it?
That’s the question at the heart of this episode of Byte Sized Blessings featuring Kurt Bush, a certified Internal Family Systems practitioner, trauma-informed leadership coach, speaker, author, pastor, and co-founder of the Brimstone Coaching Group.
Kurt’s miracle moment happened around one of the most frightening and uncertain periods in recent history: the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
And the story raises a fascinating question:
Can seemingly impossible coincidences be signs that we are being guided, protected, or taken care of?
What is synchronicity?
Kurt's story is a wonderful example of the kind of experience that makes us wonder about synchronicity.
Synchronicity is often used to describe a meaningful coincidence—two or more events that appear unrelated but come together in a way that feels profoundly significant.
Was it simply coincidence that Kurt and his friend were independently making career changes that brought both families to the same tiny Iowa town?
Maybe.
Can faith help us trust that everything will work out?
Kurt's story ultimately comes back to faith.
Not necessarily the kind of faith that promises we'll know exactly what is going to happen.
Instead, it's the kind of faith that says:
Maybe I don't know what's coming—but I can trust that I won't have to face it alone.
When the miracle is hiding inside the ordinary
One of the things I love about Kurt's story is that there is no dramatic supernatural spectacle.
There isn't a glowing light.
There isn't an impossible medical recovery.
There isn't an angel appearing in the middle of the night.
Instead, the miracle looks like two families independently making decisions that somehow bring them together at exactly the right time.
