In this Arts Spotlight, Lunchtime Conversation host Nanette Wiser previews Hispanic Heritage celebration and all the events/exhibits at The Dali in St. Petersburg. Tune in to find out about the exciting September programming at The Dalí Museum, including a lineup of Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations honoring the creativity, cultures and traditions of the Hispanic world. From Sept. 15 through Oct. 15, visitors are invited to discover Hispanic artists and voices through a vibrant lineup of music, film, poetry, flavor and more. The Museum is bringing together specialty programming spotlighting Hispanic artists, voices and traditions. Throughout Hispanic Heritage Month, visitors can also explore the galleries through Spanish-language guided tours, enjoy special offerings inspired by the flavors of Spain at Café Gala, enjoy a themed photo opportunity and more. The monthlong celebration offers a chance to explore Salvador Dalí's own Spanish heritage, from his Catalan roots to the landscapes and culture that shaped his art, identity and imagination.
- Hispanic Heritage Month Kickoff Event (Sept. 17) - Kick off the celebrations with a live performance of traditional Puerto Rican Bomba music, singing and dance, paired with special Catalan-inspired offerings from Café Gala. The event is free and open to the public.
- South of the Equator Wine Tasting (Sept. 24) - Enjoy a guided wine tasting of six wines from the celebrated regions of Chile and Argentina.
- Film Screening: El ángel exterminador (Oct. 1) - A special screening and discussion of Luis Buñuel's acclaimed surrealist masterpiece, El ángel exterminador (The Exterminating Angel, 1962).
- Poetry at The Dalí (Oct. 8) - An inspiring evening of live poetry with featured poets Virgil Suárez and Carolina Hospital.
- Performance: Latin Jazz (Oct. 15) - Enjoy an unforgettable evening of live Latin jazz music featuring Fernando Cruz.
