A self-employed jeweler agreed to redesign an inherited diamond and sapphire ring, replacing its worn, old-fashioned band with something better suited to its new owner. That night, she dreamed of a stern older woman dressed in black Victorian clothing. By morning, her sketches were scattered across the floor.

When she returned to the designs, she heard her boyfriend call her from another room—even though he was outside—and came back to find her sketchbook thrown into a corner.
