After losing multiple babies, LaRee Baker found herself grieving, afraid, and questioning the identity she had built around motherhood. Then, while praying in her closet, she heard a little girl’s voice say, “Thomas isn’t here yet.”
LaRee shares how that moment led her to Thomas, what happened after doctors said he was blind, and the experience that helped her believe the children she lost were still part of her family’s story. She also opens up about postpartum depression following miscarriage, raising children with special needs, receiving help from a neighbor she now calls her angel, and learning to find her identity in God rather than in what she could accomplish.
This is a tender conversation about loss, healing, motherhood, heavenly and human angels, and the God who holds us in our pain.
Content note: This episode discusses miscarriage, infant and childhood loss, postpartum depression, disability, and difficult pregnancies.
