STORYTIME with JANET KEELER: Katie Georgiadis "The Swamp Showdown"

In this episode of STORYTIME w/JANET KEELER we meet St. Petersburg's children book author Katie Georgiadis (left)  to talk about her just-released second book, “The Swamp Showdown.”  The creatures in Katie’s swamp are vying for the title of most terrifying but they’re just a little scared themselves. In the end, they learn a lesson about bravery and heart. Katie has turned her focus to writing children’s books after a career as a college ESL instructor. Her own children, ages 6 and 8, have provided plenty of inspiration and benefit from their mom’s love of reading and writing. “Reading to children is one of the most important things you can do,” she says. With a love of reading and book in hand, you’re never alone, Katie adds. Her first picture book, “The New Girl: A Dog Meets Baby Story,” was published in 2025.
