Making an Impact: DVUSD Students Leading, Competing & Creating

What an incredible group of students and an incredible collection of experiences.

Shamitha and Nandana showed us that our students don’t just have a seat at the table—they can help shape the conversation. Their work on the National AI Student Senate gave them an opportunity to bring the student perspective to a national discussion about the future of artificial intelligence in education.

Ryan demonstrated what it means to compete and represent your school at the national level, taking his hard work and dedication far beyond our district.

And Brooklyn showed us the power of passion, perseverance, and stepping outside your comfort zone. From the stage at Mountain Ridge to ASU Gammage and then to New York City for the Jimmy Awards, she represented herself, her school, and Deer Valley Unified with tremendous talent and pride.

What I love about these stories is that they remind us that student success doesn’t look just one way.

It can be leadership. It can be innovation. It can be competition. It can be creativity and the performing arts.

But behind every one of these accomplishments is a student who was willing to take a chance, work hard, and pursue something bigger.

And to our students listening today, I hope these stories remind you that there are opportunities all around you to find your passion, use your voice, and make an impact.
