Caleb Flynn Court Coverage Day 1: Giampapa’s Body Cam Shows WHAT?

Jurors in the Caleb Flynn trial saw body-camera footage from Officer Alexandra Giampapa as she described clearing portions of the Flynn home — including a garage where officers discovered a door standing open to the outside.

Giampapa, with the Tipp City Police Department, testified about her role in the initial response on February 16, 2026.

She told jurors that she and another officer cleared the garage. During that process, they found a door in the garage that was open to the exterior.

Giampapa then continued clearing the residence and checked on the minor children who were still inside the home.

EMS personnel subsequently arrived. Ashley Flynn’s mother, Jill, took the children away from the residence as police continued handling the scene.

The prosecution also played Giampapa’s body-camera recording in court. That gave jurors an opportunity to see part of the initial police response and the areas Giampapa was describing from the witness stand.

Those early observations are particularly relevant because the condition of the Flynn home sits directly inside the disagreement between the prosecution and defense.

Caleb Flynn, 40, has pleaded not guilty to charges including aggravated murder in the death of his wife, Ashley Flynn, 37. Prosecutors allege Caleb staged the home to create the appearance of a burglary after killing Ashley.

The defense tells jurors something fundamentally different: there really was a home invasion, Ashley was killed during it, and investigators eventually settled on Caleb rather than continuing to pursue that explanation.

Giampapa’s testimony adds another firsthand police account — and another body-camera record — of what officers encountered during the first response to the Flynn home.
