Caleb Flynn Trial Day 1: Drone Detected WHAT Around the Home?

Two Day 1 witnesses gave jurors very different snapshots of the Flynn home: one from inside the bedroom minutes after police arrived, and another from above the property more than an hour later.

Alex Huels, a Tipp City firefighter and paramedic, testified about entering the bedroom where Ashley Flynn was found on February 16, 2026. Huels said Ashley was lying on her left side in the bed with a towel covering her head.

He testified that he removed the towel and observed a penetrating wound to Ashley’s head. Huels said she was not moving and had no pulse when he checked her. His assessment ended at approximately 2:42 a.m.

The prosecution then called Tipp City Police Officer Hunter Bradburn, who also serves as a drone pilot.

Bradburn testified that he used a police drone to photograph the Flynn home. On cross-examination, he said the drone was deployed at approximately 3:56 a.m. Bradburn described that as more than an hour and a half after the incident.

He testified that the only moving heat signatures he observed during the drone deployment were animals.

That timing matters. The drone footage shows what Bradburn says was present when the aircraft went up at 3:56 a.m.; it does not tell jurors what may or may not have been around the home during the earlier events.

Caleb Flynn has pleaded not guilty to 11 charges, including aggravated murder, in the death of his wife, Ashley Flynn. Prosecutors allege Caleb killed Ashley and staged the Tipp City home to resemble a burglary. The defense maintains that Ashley was killed during a genuine home invasion and investigators wrongly focused on Caleb.
