Monday, September 21: Inside Philly’s “House Of Horrors;" Serial Killer Showdown; Stumped By A 10-Year-Old

Philadelphia journalist Leila Mitchell joined Chaz and AJ to break down the disturbing investigation surrounding the so-called “Olney House of Horrors,”  a Philadelphia home connected to a father-and-son duo, Raymond “R.C.” Horsch and his son Eugene. What investigators found has since grown into a massive missing-persons investigation: seven women have now been linked to the house, and police believe five of them are deceased based on images and videos recovered from the property.  Leila explained what police believe they’ve uncovered so far, what remains unknown, and why investigators are being extremely cautious about determining what happened inside the house — including the critical question of which disturbing scenes in the videos were staged and which may depict real crimes. After the Olney House of Horrors discussion, Airline Jimmy called in with a story about a serial killer, but took so long setting up the story that Chaz started questioning whether there was actually a story at all. By the time Jimmy finally got to the point, Chaz was ready to become the next true-crime documentary. Then things took a turn: the serial killer discussion became a full-blown Connecticut vs. Long Island showdown. Who has more serial killers? Naturally, this required research, arguments, and absolutely no shortage of creepy Connecticut and Long Island history. (14:38)

In Dumbass News, we played a clip of a woman who was genuinely shocked to discover that when you hit the “cash back” button at the supermarket, the money comes from YOUR bank account - not the supermarket’s magical free-money fund. That opened the floodgates, with comedian Dan Shea and a few members of the Tribe calling in to share some of the dumbest things they’ve ever heard someone say. Some people really do walk among us. During Stump the Chumps, 10-year-old Theo came ready to play and he had a clever question about tires that left Chaz, AJ, and the rest of the crew completely stumped. A great question, a hilarious answer, and a reminder that sometimes the youngest player in the room is the smartest one. (32:56)
