I invited Glen Argan to join me to discuss his recent, about to be published book on the Second Vatican Council. The book is titled, Jesus Christ, the Heart of Vatican II. His thoughts on the heart of the Council and what it means for the Church and the life of the world is deeply informative and provocative and I am pleased we can sit-down together and discuss it.
I met Glen Argan many years ago when he was editor of The Western Catholic Reporter, work that he did in a stellar way for 29 years. I admired the courage and care he showed as editor. He addressed many of the demanding themes and gave readers an opportunity to think more deeply about issues facing the Roman Catholic Church. Glen studied philosophy and political thought, did a master’s degree in Moral Philosophy and a theology degree somewhat later. His career spans being a reporter and managing editor of The Edmonton Journal, and a reporter for the Winnipeg Sun, and the Inner City Voice in Winnipeg, and several other newspapers. He currently writes a regular column in The Catholic Register (Toronto) and regularly posts on his Substack, Epiphany.
Welcome to our conversation.
