Caleb Flynn Court Coverage Day 3: BCI Linked the Two Bullets HOW?

The ballistics portion of the Caleb Flynn trial centered on a basic forensic question: did the bullets recovered in the Ashley Flynn investigation come from one firearm or more than one? 

BCI forensic experts Aaron Schultz and Alex Miller testified that they compared the markings, striations, and other identifying features on the recovered bullets and shell casings. According to their testimony, both bullets came from the same gun. 

The experts further testified that the gun used to kill Ashley Flynn had not been used in any other crime. Jurors heard that conclusion alongside the finding that both bullets came from the same firearm. 

Caleb Flynn has pleaded not guilty to all charges in Ashley Flynn’s death. Prosecutors allege he staged the scene to resemble a home-invasion burglary. The defense maintains an intruder killed Ashley and that investigators rushed to judgment against Caleb.
