Then a federal jury in Indiana convicted Anthony Mayers of Gary on sex trafficking by force, forced labor and felon in possession, with victims testifying he beat them and fired a gun inside the house to keep them in line. Dave Shumpert the third of Des Moines got life in federal prison for trafficking three women he specifically targeted because they were young, homeless and addicted. A former Valley Christian High School operations manager admitted paying students through Venmo to produce explicit material. An Indiana University student was charged this afternoon after allegedly telling investigators his collection reached the low hundreds and included children as young as five. A former corrections officer got twenty years. Harvey Weinstein got fifteen more. Sunny Hostin revealed on live television that she was the holdout juror who got a man found not criminally responsible after he dismembered a woman. And everybody keeps saying police need more training. What if people raised their children not to rob, not to steal and not to reach for a gun.
