Caleb Flynn Trial Day 5: Botner Said WHAT About Killing Ashley?!

Alleigha Botner read a message she said she sent Caleb Flynn during their affair: "I want to kill her, Caleb." Botner testified that Caleb replied, "That makes 2 of us."

Those words were presented to jurors as Botner's testimony continued in the trial over the death of Caleb's wife, Ashley Flynn. Caleb has pleaded not guilty. Prosecutors allege he killed Ashley on February 16, 2026 and staged the Tipp City home to look like a burglary. His attorneys say Ashley was killed by an intruder and investigators rushed to blame Caleb.

This exchange adds a complication the jury cannot simply skip past: the language in these private messages was coming from both people. Botner is a prosecution witness, and her own words are now part of the evidence jurors are hearing. The state can argue the exchange supports its theory. The defense can press context, credibility, and what two people saying something in a text actually proves about a later homicide.
