JP Miller Blamed Demons — No One Who Tried That in Court Has Ever Won

JP Miller told his congregation at Solid Rock Church that he was going to deliverance three times a week and that demons were coming out of him. His stepfather-in-law Michael Honeycutt — who helped raise Mica from about age 12 — prayed over JP and says the word that came out was “deliverance.” Ten minutes later, Honeycutt says Mica called, with JP, upset and asking whether Honeycutt was saying JP was possessed.

That was October 2023. Mica’s friend Bruna Pabon told Robbie Harvey that September 2023 is when Mica found out about JP and Suzie Skinner. The timing is the story: the demon showed up the same month the affair did.

From the pulpit, JP Miller called the 18 people Mica confided in demons. He texted her closest friend that listening to Mica was a greater sin than anything he could have committed. Former elder Bernard Kenerson says JP convinced the church leadership that Mica had been in a months-long psychotic episode and nothing she said could be trusted. The word “demon” pointed at everyone except the man saying it.

But in a sworn affidavit, Mica’s brother Nate says JP wrote Mica an email with different language: “When someone hurts me, I try to hurt them back rather than forgive” and “I just attack and try to cause pain.”

No American court has ever accepted demonic possession as a defense. Arne Johnson tried it in 1981 — the judge threw it out. Berkowitz invented his demon story. Sellers was executed and Dalton got life.

JP Miller faces federal cyberstalking and false-statement charges in Florence, with a trial set for January 2027. He married Suzie Skinner in June 2025. The demons left. The charges didn’t.
