JJ McCarthy Traded to the Giants! Starting QB Imminent? + Defense Exposed vs Titans

The New York Giants have pulled off a stunner, trading a 2027 5th-round pick to the Minnesota Vikings to acquire former first-round quarterback JJ McCarthy. With Jaxson Dart sidelined and Brian Burns suffering a season-ending torn ACL, the front office made it loud and clear that they refuse to throw in the towel on the season. Ethan and Weis break down why McCarthy is a much better scheme fit than Jameis Winston, why Winston was always meant as a short-term backup, and how quickly McCarthy could realistically see the field.

Despite grinding out an ugly Week 3 victory over Cam Ward and the Tennessee Titans, the performance left serious concerns on the table. The guys dive into a fiery debate over the pass rush after top draft picks Abdul Carter and Kayvon Thibodeaux combined for zero sacks, zero QB hits, and just one tackle against a struggling offense. While Weis argues the secondary's inability to cover quick drops handicapped the front, Ethan is completely out of excuses for high-priced, high-draft capital rushers.

Looking ahead to Week 4, the Giants prepare for a sneaky trap game against the Arizona Cardinals at MetLife Stadium. Plus, Ethan and Weis scan the rest of the league, debating which NFL head coach is on the hottest seat, reacting to horrific officiating in the Rams game, and evaluating whether Jim Harbaugh could genuinely face a mid-season exit.
