Attorney Steven Cozzi arrived at work on an ordinary Tuesday morning—and then seemingly vanished. His car was still outside. His phone, wallet, and keys were left behind. But inside the office building, investigators found blood, signs of a cleanup, and surveillance footage of a mysterious man leaving with a heavily loaded wagon.

What followed was an investigation that would uncover a contentious lawsuit, months of alleged planning, a hidden Toyota Tundra, disturbing digital evidence, and a trail that investigators believed revealed what happened to Steve—even though his body has never been found.

More than three years later, plastic surgeon Dr. Tomasz Kosowski went on trial for Steve's murder. But with no body, no jury, and Kosowski making the extraordinary decision to represent himself in a death penalty case, prosecutors would have to prove their case in one of the most unusual murder trials we've covered.

This is the case of Steven Cozzi and the trial of Dr. Tomasz Kosowski.
