Nightmares are a necessary ingredient of living. They are a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope: a distorted view that makes everything seem smaller, stranger, and infinitely more frightening. Yet perhaps that distortion is precisely what makes them valuable. Stories born from imagination allow us to step outside the boundaries of ordinary reality and confront the fears, possibilities, and darker corners of our own minds.
Of course, stories of imagination tend to unsettle those without much of it. To someone who cannot see beyond the familiar, the impossible is simply nonsense. But to those willing to dream, nightmares can become something more: a reminder that the world is stranger than we think, and that sometimes the things we cannot explain are the things most worth exploring.
