Caleb Flynn was convicted on nine counts including aggravated murder for the shooting death of his wife Ashley. Prosecutors argued he killed her while she slept and staged the scene as a burglary. Divorce was available to him at every stage. He chose murder, the prosecution argued. Flynn had been carrying on an 18-month affair with a 24-year-old church intern and exchanged over 107,000 texts. In one, he allegedly wrote he was up until 4 a.m. thinking of ways to kill his wife and not go to jail. He led a public life as a worship leader and a private life texting about killing the mother of his children. The jury took roughly two hours to convict. Bob Motta and Robin Dreeke break down the psychology of compartmentalization, the arrogance it takes to think you can stage a crime scene, and what flips a man from fantasy to action.
