This is an episode of BOAT Radio, recorded live from the BOAT Lounge at the Monaco Yacht Show.
Captain Arctic is one of the most buzzed-about new launches of the year - and for good reason. Now represented by Pelorus, the yacht is powered by revolutionary rigid sails covered in solar panels, with its near-zero-emission design pushing the boundaries of sustainable expedition yachting. Designed to withstand the extreme conditions of the polar regions, the vessel will cruise without noise, vibration or smell, allowing charter guests to feel truly immersed in their surroundings.
At the heart of Captain Arctic is co-founder Sophie Galvagnon, a French-Swedish explorer who became the world’s youngest female Arctic captain at the age of 26. Galvagnon will reveal what it is like to build a boat you actually captain and how her experience in the polar regions shaped the vessel.
Meanwhile, Pelorus co-founder Jimmy Carroll will explain why, as Central Agent for Captain Arctic, Pelorus is answering the call for greener, more immersive charters – and how the yacht fits into its wider approach to expedition travel.
