Akash Madiah has seen the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) from both sides. He used its data to redo physician compensation plans while working in practice finance, and he now leads the association as acting CEO in its centennial year. Following MGMA’s 2026 annual conference in San Antonio, he sat down with Physicians Practice Managing Editor Keith Reynolds to talk about what practices are calling MGMA about most, what administrators should do this quarter as Medicare pay stays flat and costs keep rising, and what the association’s first member pulse survey says it still needs to fix. He closes with two things any practice leader can start on Monday.
