So the peer Ken Maginnis has quit the Ulster Unionist party. In a parting shot the former Fermanagh and South Tyrone MP said the election of Mike Nesbitt as UUP leader had been a "mistake". For his part Mr Nesbitt said he regretted Lord Maginnis's decision to leave the party saying "recent matters could have been resolved". Lord Maginnis lost the party whip at Westminster in June after controversial comments about homosexuality on the Nolan show. Rainbow Project spokesperson John O'Doherty and unionist commentator Michael Shilliday give their views on the resignation.
