So the North and West Belfast Parades Forum have welcomed a "Respect not Re-Route" call by residents at Carrick Hill on marches past St Patrick's Church. Trouble erupted after several bands defied a Parades Commission ruling as they passed the Church on Donegall Street on Saturday. The Commission had ruled that loyalist bands were not to play music as they passed the church, after one band from the Shankill was filmed parading in circles outside St Patrick's while playing a contentious song on the twelfth. Over 100 people attended a public meeting about the parade last night. Carrickhill residents called on the marchers to show the church and their community "the respect they deserve". West Belfast MP Paul Maskey has called for the parade to be re-routed.
