First Nations deaths in custody: has anything changed?

An inquest into another First Nations death in custody has prompted questions about what's changed, 25 years since the Royal Commission into the issue.Twenty-five years ago, the Royal Commission into 'Aboriginal Deaths in Custody' was established to investigate why so many First Nations people died while while held in state and territory jails.

In September 2012, the Northern Territory coroner released a damning report into the death just a few months ago of a young indigenous man in police custody.
