Australia sent about 16-thousand troops to fight and by the war's end more than 500 were dead. Two years ago Dr Dale Kerwin from Griffith University found 50 Aboriginal trackers also served and many were left behind when Australian troops returned home in 1902. Their contribution will now be included as part of a Boer War memorial planned for ANZAC Parade at the Australian War Memorial in Canberra. Worimi man Dale Kerwin spoke with Stefan Armbruster about his latest research into the fate of the Aboriginal trackers.
