This was my first attempt at a radio package. Me, Steph and Heather looked at the superstition surrounding Friday 13th. Recorded in 2009. Enjoy x
Febooary day 13 part 2
Oh and the superstition with salt seems to go back partly to Christian beliefs and partly to how valuable salt used to be as a commodity.
I'd say a tradition is a ritual that we continue because it has been passed down the generations. It can be superstitious but needn't be. A superstition is something we believe or do irrationally, to achieve or avoid a certain outcome, or something we attach significance to without evidence.
Superstition, Spirituality and Dysfunction
Cat rants on about her
relationship with her mother,
I love hearing about different superstitions; it's interesting to learn why people in various cultures believe certain things. I had to burst out laughing when you talked about Christians having their boarding passes on the Jesus train. I'm a Christian myself, but I can definitely see the funny side of my religion. And you know, you're absolutely right; we shouldn't be afraid to die if we know where we're going! The trouble is, I can't help but doubt whether I'm actually as good a Christian as I should be, and so, stupid though it may be, I do fear death. All the wonderful talk I hear on a regular basis about God's grace and forgiveness just never seems to get through my thick skull somehow. LOL. But that's my dysfunctionality for you. ☺

Bad things come in threes. #audiomo #recev
Why is it that bad things seem to happen in threes, over a very short period.
Haunted house Shannon :o() More Gremlins than ghosts me thinks :)
Jings Adrian - heard of the 'singing kettle' but not the 'flying one' :) #techstuff With the multi-stranded copper wire used in each core, you can have a few of the strands shorting and blowing themselves clear. but because they're only drawing fractions of an Amp each time they short, they don't draw enough to blow the fuse ;) :O)
You would have thought the fuse would have blown with a failure like that. Having said that, I had the same thing with a kettle, flames by the flex connection. It was quickly turned off at the socket, then ended up half way down the garden just in case.
