Learning the language, behind bars....

To mark World Book Day we at BBC Radio Stoke are meeting adults who are leaning to read and write -- including inmates at the county's women only prison.

Illiterate inmates at HMP Drake Hall near Eccleshall are taught by other prisoners how to read and write -- in the hope of improving their chances of not returning to crime after their release.

Our reporter EMMA THOMAS has been to meet some of the learners.

Noreen is 47-year-old mother of four, originally from Pakistan. She's serving a nine year sentence for importing drugs....
