Members of the Lax Kw'alaams First Nation are monitoring a proposed LNG site outside of Port Edward from their boats. They say they they are there to keep on eye on the Flora Bank eel grass bed, which is an important area for migrating salmon.

The Prince Rupert Port Authority owns the island. Manager of corporate communications Michael Gurney says no work is currently being done.
