Colonel Bob Stewart told Tim Marshall the poppy used to be a sign of respect, but says he wonders "if the big drive is to get more money than last year".

"The reason to wear a poppy is to remember, not to make money out of it. It's becoming commercialised".

He says he was ordered by the BBC to put a poppy on so they wouldn't get complaints.

He said his tradition is to not wear one before the 1st of November, before adding "I don't need to wear a poppy to have respect for the people I've known who have been killed"
