Court hearing against 28 states should exclude Chief Justice, Political Parties petition

An application has been submitted to the constitutional court seeking to block Chief Justice Chan Reec Madut from presiding over case against the 28 states.

The application was submitted today- Friday by Lawyers representing Political Parties’ National Alliance.

The Chief Justice was involved in the formation of the 28 States, Advocate Agok Makur claims.

Makur said that the chief Justice made congratulatory message to President Salva Kiir Mayardit after the creation of the states.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Justice, Roben Madol adjourned the hearing to January 22nd.

He said the 14 days will give time to the ministry of Justice to prepare their arguments on the issue.
