Kate Middleton Rocks Red, and Her Wedding-Day Earrings, for Windsor Castle Appearance

The Duchess of Cambridge has been on something of a sartorial tear as of late, as she has opted for a series of winning looks related to the Queen’s birthday festivities over the weekend. (Oh, you thought dressing for three days’ worth of birthday festivities for the Queen of England’s 90th birthday was going to prove a challenge for Kate? No way.) Kate wore a series of stellar outfits over the weekend, reflecting a mix of modern looks (herlight-blue-and-pink Roksanda dress from Sunday was a particular favorite) and classic, more formal fascinator-involved ensembles.

Kate is not getting a break from the event circuit following her busy weekend, though, as the Duchess wasright back at it today, arriving at the Garter service at Windsor Castle in a very bright, striking red outfit, the centerpiece of which—a Catherine Walker coat—she has worn once before, in 2011 at the Calgary Zoo, in Canada. (It’s kind of amusing to imagine Kate flipping through her outfits, in her closet, and reaching this coat, pausing for a minute, and then maybe remembering back to a moment at the zoo when she had to take, like, a photo with an emu and really didn’t want to but then the emu smiled at her . . . causing her to decide, “You know what? I’m gonna revisit this one today!”) Kate paired the coat with a hat from Lock & Co., as well as the diamond earrings that she wore on her wedding day. (It also seems very Kate that she would then say, on her way out to this Monday-afternoon event, “And I’ll finish this look off with my wedding-day earrings—why not!”)

If this outfit looks familiar to you, so much so that you are questioning our telling you that she hasn’t worn it since 2011, it is because she has worn many things that are very, very, very similar. This below composite should honestly just become the new U.K. flag. Heck, it should be the U.S. one, too.
