They've left the borders open, and our nation defenceless

There is not a more important function for a government than the defence of the borders. This evening – budget night – we’ll see our national defence being misused cynically. In a sleight of hand exercise, defence will be used just to fiddle the national accounts so that the budget appears in surplus for one year. This won’t impress anybody.
