"A kick against the pricks" by Senator David Norris

Season 1, Episode 2115,   Nov 10, 2012, 02:53 PM

Begins on Patrick's Street Cork - as I rushed back from having my iPhone charged by the helpful man in #CompuB ( Apple Re-seller) Continues in #Waterstones #Bookshop where #DavidNorris was signing his #autobiography... You hear the voice of Miriam who works with David Norris - describing the way in which David produced the book... (dictating & editing). 103.8FM (Cork local radio station) was recording an interview with David for broadcast this afternoon. You hear the disappointment in my voice as I accept I won't get to speak to David Norris... A big plus for #CompuB & a mention of how #CarphoneWarehouse couldn't charge an iPhone. Then the enjoyment of short conversation with David Norris & his personal account of how he wrote the book (in school copybooks & dictaphone) - plus praise for Ger Sigert (?) the man who typed it all up (15 edits & deleting of 50k words). At the end, you hear us chat with humour about Limerick. I got a plug in for O'Mahony's the Booksellers (owned by my brother Frank O'Mahony & established in 1902 by my grandfather) Maybe David Norris will visit that independent bookshop. That summary leaves out a lot of other references... It was a lovely colourful encounter.
