Staying with dads friends

Day 22 had me go to Waipu for a short day of only 4 hours walking but had a very long rest of 3 hours in Waipu with a feed and museum. Beach work and road walk and off the track detour to my dads friends place for a meal and great bed. Will take a shortcut tomorrow to get back onto the trail over a paper road instead of the long road return otherwise.
