There’s mounting pressure on Canada’s federal government to do more to address the concerns of the country’s aboriginal communities – known as First Nations - which make up almost 4% of the population. The chief of one First Nation is in the third week of a hunger strike, which she says she’ll continue until the Canadian Prime Minister, Stephen Harper, agrees to meet her. The protest is galvanizing a wider indigenous rights movement - which is threatening to escalate a campaign of non-violent civil disobedience in the weeks ahead. Stuart Hughes reports:
