The Witch Goddess of Snowdonia (Poem)

Jan 17, 2013, 11:41 PM

This poem was inspired by a visit to North Wales (UK) - specifically Mount Snowdon - in 2010. Many thanks to my brother Philip Irvine with whom I shared the experience of climbing the mountain and visiting the Island of Mona and other ancient sites during across that summer. The 'Witch Goddess' of the poem is of course the Celtic Goddess Cerridwen, Queen of bards and poets who featured so strongly in Robert Graves' marvellous though eccentric book The White Goddess'.
